kids’ rooms

recently i have been stumbling upon a ton of great kids’ rooms. i have so many ideas that i am dying to implement- i just need to find a client with a kid! below are a few of my favorite children’s rooms:

i saw a blanket just like this last weekend at the rose bowl flea market, but i hesitated and lost it. i’m really regretting it now!

i love everything about jenna lyons’ house, especially her son’s room. the little chicks in the fireplace are so cute and i really love the mix match of letters above the mantle. the gray walls add a nice touch of sophistication that matches the mantle, while the yellow striped ceiling provides a necessary pop of color.

this room has a great mix of adult design classics (the barcelona chair and the arco floor lamp) mixed with fun baby accessories. the moose coat rack adds a fun element along with the bedding and assortment of toys on the display shelves. the wood paneled walls and hardwood floors will help the room transition from baby to childhood and into the teen years.

last night i went to the 92streetY to see jane goodall talk about her new book, hope for animals and their world. simply amazing. she is so articulate. you can tell that each word she speaks has been thought through. she was also amazingly witty. and her voice was so calming. i would love to fall asleep to her telling me a bedtime story about her chimps at gombe. i was so nervous once i got to the front of the line (after patiently waiting an hour and half) that i lost all capability of speaking. i was SO starstruck. i stammered out something about how it was my birthday present to see her and that i really, really loved her. then she signed this poster that i had purchased before the talk.  i wanted to ask her to write, ‘happy birthday, ashley.’ but felt horrible since the poor woman must have been exhausted after traveling from london the night before.
i hope i’m so lucky to be able to have the chance to meet jane again.
